Apparitions is a project that uses the music of Albert Ayler as the impetus for a highly expressionistic music. Albert Ayler was undeniably one of the most passionate musicians to spring from the free jazz scene of the 1960's and it's his unparalleled emotional commitment that drives this group. Ayler's folk-like melodies create a cathartic framework for group and solo improvisations that span from lyrical to ecstatic sonic outbursts that teeter on the edge of control. Each member uses his own vast musical vocabulary to contribute in a way that is not retro or derivative, but highly personal and contemporary.

Their music is made out of noisy bitcrushed skylines, subversive feedbacks, distorted sax tornados and indefinable metallic sounds. The general chaos and disorder resulting from the collapsing above-mentioned languages creates the aesthetics of the music itself...
